Privacy Policy Back to Web Design Services
Websites perform a vareity of functions for us, from renewing your driver's license and paying your taxes to online shopping or even just showing off your family photos. Whatever the reason you want to create & post a website or just a single webpage, you will need to do the following:
- Registering a Domain Name (such as silverstate55.com). This is also referred to as a URL, and you will be required to pay for the privilege of using this Domain Name for a set period of time.
- Signing up for website hosting. This is paying for the physical space your files will take up on a company's server (just a big computer with LOTS of file storage space), so the rest of the world can view your website. Most companies offer reasonable monthly or quarterly rates, and will bundle necessary software and add-ons for an additional fee. SilverState55.com uses 1 & 1 Internet Inc. for all of our webhosting needs.

To make things easier for customers, most web hosting services (including 1 & 1 Internet) allow you to register your domain name and reserve your web hosting account together, and frequently offer discounts if you register & reserve together.
- Configure your FTP access. FTP stands for File Transfer Protocol, and is a software program that allows you to access & transfer files to your web hosting server; all you are doing is transferring files (web pages, graphics, and so on) from your computer to another, so that others can view your web pages.

SilverState55.com can do this (and more) at no charge once you contract with us to design & implement your website.
- Set up your new email address with your domain name via your web hosting service. What this means is that if you paid for a web hosting package that included email addresses, you can now set up your new email accounts related to your new website (such as info@mydomain.com or orders@mynewwebsite.com). You can choose to have these emails forwarded to an existing email address or set up a new mailbox in your personal computer's email program (such as Outlook or Eudora) to receive the mail generated from your website.

SilverState55.com can do this (and more) at no charge once you contract with us to design & implement your website.
